چکیده

The dynamics of dry active matter have implications for a diverse collection biological phenomena spanning range length and time scales, such as animal flocking, cell tissue dynamics, swarming inserts bacteria. Uniting these systems are common set symmetries conservation laws, defining fluids class physical system. Many interesting behaviours been observed at high densities, which remain difficult to simulate due the computational demand. Here, we show how two-dimensional in dense regime can be studied using simple modification lattice Boltzmann method. We apply our method on model that exhibits motility-induced phase separation, an with contact inhibition locomotion, has relevance collective migration. For latter, uncover multiple novel transitions: two first-order one potentially critical. further support simulation results analytical treatment hydrodynamic equations obtained via Chapman–Enskog coarse-graining procedure.

A novel boundary condition for the simulation of the submerged bodies using lattice boltzmann method

In this study, we proposed a novel scheme for the implementation of the no-slip boundary condition in thelattice Boltzmann method (LBM) . In detail , we have substituted the classical bounce-back idea by the direct immersed boundary specification . In this way we construct the equilibrium density functions in such a way that it feels the no-slip boundaries . Therefore , in fact a kind of equili...

Lattice Boltzmann method for viscoelastic fluids.

A lattice Boltzmann model for viscoelastic flow simulation is proposed. Elastic effects are taken into account within the framework of a Maxwell model. To test the approach, we estimate the transverse velocity autocorrelation function for a freely evolving system, and find clear manifestations of shear at large frequencies. We then characterize boundary-driven shear waves, and the resonant enha...

Coupling lattice Boltzmann and molecular dynamics models for dense fluids.

We propose a hybrid model, coupling lattice Boltzmann (LB) and molecular dynamics (MD) models, for the simulation of dense fluids. Time and length scales are decoupled by using an iterative Schwarz domain decomposition algorithm. The MD and LB formulations communicate via the exchange of velocities and velocity gradients at the interface. We validate the present LB-MD model in simulations of tw...

A local lattice Boltzmann method for multiple immiscible fluids and dense suspensions of drops.

The lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) for computational fluid dynamics benefits from a simple, explicit, completely local computational algorithm making it highly efficient. We extend LBM to recover hydrodynamics of multi-component immiscible fluids, while retaining a completely local, explicit and simple algorithm. Hence, no computationally expensive lattice gradients, interaction potentials or c...
